Officials arrested a South Carolina man Thursday afternoon about a half hour after the armed robbery of the Banks Crossing branch of Northeast Georgia Bank following a chase that began in Commerce and ended in the median of U.S. 441 a few hundred yards from the Athens-Clarke County line.
Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman says Thomas Franklin Woody has confessed to the Thursday afternoon robbery of Northeast Georgia Bank at Banks Crossing.

I totally agree that all of the officers involved did an outstanding job. My husband and I saw the whole ending to this story just as we pulled onto 441 on Thursday. It was amazing! Jackson Co. and the GSP performed amazingly in stopping the car.
