Downtown Commerce will be packed with goblins, ghosts and doubtlessly a Sarah Palin and a Barack Obama or two Friday evening.
But they won’t be asking for your vote.
Thousands of kids are expected to trick or treat in downtown Commerce Friday afternoon.
Ghosts, goblins to be on prowl Friday afternoon
The Commerce Area Business Association and Downtown Development Authority will sponsor the annual Downtown Trick-Or-Treat Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 for kids 12 and under and accompanied by an adult.
The event is timed in conjunction with trick-or-treat hours in downtown Jefferson and at the Tanger Outlet Centers at Banks Crossing.
Judging for a costume contest will start at 5:30 in Spencer Park. Prizes will be given for the categories of scariest, most original, cutest, best character and best creature costumes.
The Commerce Police Department will direct traffic and will provide Child Safety ID kits in Spencer Park and, if requested, children can be fingerprinted. The Commerce Fire Department will also be in Spencer Park.
More Trick-or-Treat
In addition, Peachtree Village invites trick-or-treaters to come by from 4:00 to 7:00 that night for treats. It is located on W.W. Gary Road, off U.S. 441 just south of Banks Crossing.
Trick-or-treat at the Tanger outlets is from 5:00 to 7:00 at participating stores.

God that is funny and so right, because everybody deserves the right to candy. So for all you hard working trick or treaters this is a simple lesson on economics. You don't have to rush out and beat the crowd, rather you can stay at home and Mr. Obama will make sure you get a fair share from everybody else that worked hard to get their candy. What a bunch of crap! If the people of this great nation elect this idiot, they deserve what's coming to them.

Oh, I get it. It's the government's fault you can't get a good job and you are living paycheck to paycheck. It's just not fair some people have marketable job skills and are able to provide for their families without government handouts. Might as well punish these folks to make up for your lack of skills that is forcing you to live paycheck to paycheck. What's that? It's not your fault you have no real skills the good jobs require? I guess if you are on the receiving end, it must be ok for the government to steal money from other people.

yep a hand out is just what you need to be independant! i hope the job you have takes all the paychecks and puts them all together then splits them up to all employees .. because those that didn't come to work AND THOSE THAT CAME BUT DID NOTHING ALL DAY DESERVE A PEICE OF THE PIE NO MATTER WHO'S PIE IT IS !

I'll have you know that even with a RN degree from Georgia State I have two teenage children and dead spouse. I still live paycheck to paycheck DA. I paid off all my credit cards and car when my spouse passed away and I still can't make it. I work at a great hospital outside Atlanta and gas prices alone had me fall. So yeah I want CHANGE!!

Have you considered a budget and living within your means? You may be trying to live a lifestyle that is beyond your income.
