The end is near — the end of a long, long presidential campaign, that is.
Record numbers of voters are expected to go to the polls next week. Indeed, 20 percent of Jackson County’s voters have already cast their ballots, thanks to early and advance voting opportunities.
Advance voting continues through Friday from 9:00 to 7:00 in General Election at the Commerce Recreation office on Carson Street, at the Jackson County Administrative Building in Jefferson and at the Braselton Municipal Building.
Heavy voter turnout expected as campagin nears end

I went to the debate in Madison county just to see what our State Senate race was about and I learned a lot! I know Ralph has not ever done anything for us and I met Tim Riley last night and foundout he has been to Jackson county MANY times to meet with our residents! He is activly trying to get our support and I have to tell you, he seems to be willing to fight for US! Tim Riley really made me think about the issues, education, our budget and economy and even our water problems. He is on OUR side in the water dispute. I have never voted democrat but I am voting for Tim Riley for state senate because I think he will really fight for US!! He is even willing to help us fix the mess with the hunting and fishing licences! Ralph needs to go for throwing us out the window on that one alone! He is outsourcing our licences and charging us MUCH more for them and raising our taxes to pay for the outsourcing! I asked Tim Riley if he woud work to get us help and try to get them back to being able to be bought in stores and not just over the phone or over the internet (starting soon most likely in December.......just after the election) and Tim Riley said he would work to get it done! That is enough for me to vote for TimRiley for state senate alone!
