Snatch-and-grab thief gets $1,000 necklace

According to a report from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office a black male ran out of the store last Wednesday morning with a stainless steel necklace store personnel valued at $1,055.

The deputy who responded to the incident said the female clerk told him she was showing him the necklace and he asked for a credit application, then attempted to exit the store with the necklace to get his ID.

The clerk stopped him, and he tried to leave a second time and eventually ran out with the necklace, jumped into a black Honda and drove off.

The thief dropped a Post-It note with a name and phone number with the message “call when Steve arrives.”
