A Jackson County man hit while riding his bicycle on Hwy. 98 a quarter mile east of Yarbrough-Ridgeway Road was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center Tuesday night.


Jackson County personnel at the scene identified the victim as Daniel Hill, 25, of a Maysville Road address. He was reportedly nearing his residence when the accident occurred.

Hill was riding his bike east (toward Commerce) at about dusk when an eastbound vehicle struck it, knocking the bike and Hill into the roadside ditch.

Paramedics indicated Hill suffered back injuries, and possibly internal injuries.

Details of the accident were not immediately available.

Daniel and his wife go to our church. He is currently in ICU with a broken hip, arm, and bone in his back, as well as some minor hemorrhaging. He is expected to recover from his injuries, but it will be a long road. Please pray for healing.

Daniel is my uncle i love him so much last night 1st the 1st time i had seen him i balled he is an amazing guy and if it was up to me i would have takein his place in this accident it kills me indise dee him like he is.
