A masked burglar kicked open the door of Cody Fuels at about 2:11 a.m. last Thursday Dec. 11, filled a trash can with cigarettes, placed it in his vehicle and came in for more, before getting away.
According to the Commerce Police Department incident report, officers responded to the Maysville Road convenience store’s burglar alarm at 2 a.m. to find the front door kicked in, the office door beaten in and the office ransacked.
When the owner of the business arrived, police got to watch the entire crime spree. They saw the man, dressed in coveralls and wearing a mask and gloves, kick in the glass front door, enter with a large trash container, beat down the office door with a crow bar and exit with the container full of cigarettes. The man re-entered, went back into the office and emerged with two large boxes also containing cigarettes before making his getaway.
