For one month at least, BJC Medical Center’s cost-cutting moves appear to have paid off.
Chief financial officer Ray Leadbetter reported to the medical center’s governing authority Monday that the facility finished January $19,000 in the black.
The figures for the first month after BJC Medical Center laid off 45 employees showed $19,000 in revenue over expenditures. The facilities chief financial officer projects that the cost-cutting moves will save the facility $2 million over the year.
