Lucille Geneva Roberts Shoemake, 87, of Braselton, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Willow Wood Nursing Home, following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Hall County and the daughter of the late William Clay and Pearl Ethel Simpson Roberts. She was a homemaker and a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church. There’s no end in sight to the state-imposed restrictions on the use of water.

Aside from 25 minutes per day with a hand-held hose, residents of Jackson, Barrow, Oconee and Clarke counties still cannot water their yards, let alone wash their cars.

The East Jackson Eagles closed out their baseball season by being swept doubleheader at Rabun County last week.
