Lady Eagles’ Season Ends With North Oconee Loss

The East Jackson softball season came to an end last week, as the Lady Eagles were swept in a doubleheader by North Oconee on Oct. 6 in the opening round of region playoff action. The Commerce Lady Tigers were set to begin the postseason on Tuesday as the Lady Tigers hosted Mt. Paran in the first round of the state sectionals. Mike Sullivan is, as Ward 3 city councilman Mark Fitzpatrick pointed out Monday night, a patient man. Probably too patient.

Sullivan was back before the city council about a long-standing sewage problem that results in sewage backing up into his house during times of heavy rainfall. It’s a problem he’s endured for years.

Woman reported missing was killed in wreck

A Pendergrass man got the worst possible result after he reported his wife missing Sunday.

The man came to the Commerce Police Station to report his wife missing after she came home from work Saturday, told her husband she was going out to eat and to a movie with a friend, but never came home.
