The Commerce cross country team ended its season last Thursday at the region 8-A championships at Athens Christian. Commerce finished last of seven teams with a score of 197 with an average run time of 22:37.80 and a total race time of 1:53:09.00. I don’t know who’s behind it, but Americans are increasingly prone to believe in conspiracies.

This is not the-man-on-the-grassy-knoll quality, but a persistent belief that folks are constantly plotting to do us in, whether it’s in local politics, the referees who flagged A.J. Greene for excessive celebrating, or the police department. It might be the “city hall gang,” the judicial system or a vast Republican conspiracy. Frankly, I like the last one.
