I don’t know who’s behind it, but Americans are increasingly prone to believe in conspiracies.
This is not the-man-on-the-grassy-knoll quality, but a persistent belief that folks are constantly plotting to do us in, whether it’s in local politics, the referees who flagged A.J. Greene for excessive celebrating, or the police department. It might be the “city hall gang,” the judicial system or a vast Republican conspiracy. Frankly, I like the last one.
