As 2014 lurches to a close, Commerce’s newest utility is ready to accept its first customers.
“If someone came in today, we could have everything in a week,” explained finance director James Wascher.
Wascher is talking about a high-speed Internet service being built off the city’s fiber optics system that serves all of its facilities from City Hall to the Boys and Girls Club building. It’s a faster, and city official say more reliable, system than what is currently available through Windstream.
