Easter egg hunt, parade are Saturday

Community Bank & Trust, the Commerce Business Association and the Downtown Development Authority sponsor the city’s Easter event, which includes the parade and an egg hunt for kids 12-under at the church.

Prior to the parade, ribbons will be presented to winners of contests for the best-decorated bicycle, best-decorated wagon and best-decorated battery-operated vehicle. Those entering the contests should be at the starting point by 9:45 a.m.

The activities begin at the Community Bank & Trust parking lot by the drive-through windows. The parade will go down to the First Baptist Church, and the egg hunt will begin as soon as all participants in the parade have reached the church.

Some 20,000 candy eggs and a number of prize eggs will be spread over the front lawn of the church.
In the event of rain, all activities will be canceled.

Several stores will also have sidewalk sales that day.
