LULA – Carole Oglesbee Green, 66, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Tift County on January 15, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Julia Oglesbee Lovvorn and Jasper Charlie Oglesbee Jr. She was a social worker with DFACS with 30 years of service and was a proud member of the Living Mission United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, recycling, sewing, but most of all giving care to those in need, loved ones stated.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Charles and Deanna Lynn Nelson, Lula, and Michael David Nelson and Cheryl Jenkins-Nelson, Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Betty Ann Kaste, Lilburn, Bonnie O. Brown and Charlotte O. Wells, both of Atlanta; grandchildren, Maegan Victoria Nelson, Dustin John Bland, Kaitlin Grace Nelson, Connor Michael Nelson, Madison Leigh Jenkins and Morgan Christen Jenkins; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Elizabeth Bland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, at 11 a.m., at the Living Mission United Methodist Church with Pastor Deron Crocker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9.
