COMMERCE – Sharon Kay Tonge, 61, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Alachua County, Fla., she was the daughter of Noah A. Green, Land O’Lakes, Fla., and Ava E. Williams Reeves, Jay, Fla. She was a retired media paraprofessional at the Commerce City Schools. Mrs. Tonge was preceded in death by brothers, Noah A. Green III and James Leonard Green.
Survivors in addition to her parents, include her husband, Sammy Tonge, Commerce; a daughter, Sammy Kay Fuller, Statham; son, Jim Hall, Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, JoAnn Jowers, Ocilla, and Mary Ann Knight, Cross City, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 11, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The family has requested to omit flowers. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Rd., Athens, GA 30605-3007.
