My wife and I bought our first house in the summer of 1970. About two weeks later it hit me that I desperately needed a lawn mower. It turned out that at the same time one of the national drug store chains was having a “Midnight Madness” sale and one of the sale items was a rather utilitarian Murray 20-inch walk-behind lawn mower for $50. To take advantage of this opportunity, you have to be at the store at 11:00 p.m. on a certain night.

What ever happened to the days of the midnight madness sale? Maybe they’re still out there I just go to bed too early to pay them any mind. Thanks for a great laugh. Now all you need is a tee shirt that says "been there cut that", in highway department yellow of course.
