2 young girls flee apparent stalker

The girls ignored him, turned left on Broad Street, walked down to Washington Street, back to Clayton Street to Willoughby Park.

They told police that three to five minutes after they arrived at the park, the green pickup arrived as well, and the man pulled a $20 bill from his billfold and offered it to the girls if they would get into the truck with him.

The oldest of the two girls told the man she was only 14, and the girls ran to their home. They said the man followed them in his truck, pulled into their driveway, backed out and left.

Officers planned to check the surveillance video at The Corner Station to see if it showed the truck while it was at that intersection.

The stalking suspect is described as “older, with a small gray goatee, short gray hair, very tanned with a big belly and a fat face.”
