Enrollment in the Commerce School System was running about 100 students behind last year as the second week of classes got under way.
Superintendent of schools James E. “Mac” McCoy put the enrollment at 1,425 Monday, a week into the 2009-10 school year.
While enrollment in the Commerce City School System is down by about 100 from last year, enrollment at Commerce High School is off by only eight students.

Lets see 100 students down for the city and 83 students up for the county. I think it obvious where our students are going. Mine would if there was not a transportation issue. Many more opportunities at Jackson.

I would send mine elsewhere as well if possible. I think the priorities of the schools are in need of rearranging and the security needs a good looking into!
