PTO Fall Carnival is Saturday

Commerce Primary School will hold its annual fall festival Saturday from 10 a.m. at the school.

In addition to the traditional offerings — games, inflatables, hay rides, drawings, a car smash, cake walk and refreshments — the 2009 event features the inaugural Tiger Trot 5K road race and a fun run.

Entertainment will include Dustin Wilkes, a Nashville Star finalist, and the Bobby Compton Band, a nominee for “Georgia’s Favorite Male Singer.” Andrea Griffith, producer of Georgia Life and Style, will serve as the emcee.

The Tiger Trot will start at 8 a.m., and results will be posted online within 24 hours at runningintheusa.com and wwwcoolrunning.com. To register, go online to Active.com.

Among the items available through drawings or the silent auction are tickets to the Georgia Aquarium, High Museum of Art, Stone Mountain, Fernbank Museum of Natural History and The World of Coke, a football autographed by Mark Richt, a basketball autographed by Mark Fox and an autographed Larry Munson print.

We would like to wish the Primary School PTO good luck in their efforts. Lets also remember that the Elementary School PTO will be holding their Skate For Dollars event at the Skate A-Rama USA located on Hospital Road on Sunday October 11th from 2 to 6 p.m. Let us all do our best to raise funds at both of these great events and invest in the future of our children.
