It’s not often that one uses dog food as a weapon, but that happened in a workplace fight in the parking lot at Presto’s convenience store last week.
According to the Commerce Police Department, the fight was between two men on a delivery route.
A 60-year-old white male was training a 36-year-old black male on the delivery route, and the two got into a fight over a series of incidents including the parking of the truck and the stacking of boxes.
The older man claimed the other man tried to throw him out of the vehicle, and in a melee, struck the older man in the head with a can of dog food, then hit him with a stick, at which time the owner of the store separated the two men.
The younger man claimed that the older man began cussing him and pinned him against the truck and wrestled him to the ground. He admitted using a can of dog food as a weapon.
Because of conflicting statements, the officer made no arrests. The company advised the older man to continue the route and came to the store to pick up the younger man.
