maybe they should bring to your street that'S where all the "ACTION" GOING DOWN! BUT no...you PEOPLE always want to blame someone ELSE FOR your faults...so why not blame it on one section of Commerce...when we all know where the trouble spots ARE... BUT they won't touch them because of the fallout they will get for messing with one of THE CITY'S MAMA'S BOYS

This is crazy we have problems every where in this city believe it are not the main problems a dog will not solve!!!!in are white/black commuity's there is more domestic violence, child wierdos than drugs,i am not excited about my tax dollars being spent on another false alerting dog so they can gain acess to are childrens car without a warrent.you mean that these non educated GED caring polcie can now speakin dog, lmao they want lassie to do there job!!Black and white people need to learn to work together her like in other states not in the south. As long as we are divide they city and town can always get away with anything they want.lets work together and have meeting where we tell are local officals what we want ...get thease ignorent people out of office and make real change in commerce .with politics, police, taxes, schools they same people has been incharge for over 20 years it seems and can't do nothing .they keep you locals around here uniformed un educated ,unaware how dum they really are ...

. You truly are an idiot! You must have a GED yourself. I usually do not post on here, but rather laugh in amusement to the comments posted by people such as you. Your tax dollars and mine too, by the way I live in a house within the city limits, not an apartment, rental house or low income housing. You must not have read the article published after this one, (it was in the Athens Banner Herald) stating that the canine was purchased with donated money from the Kiwanis Club (as listed in above article please read information in article before posting) and seized drug funds. I also know the new K-9 handler personally. He was a Sgt. on patrol before taking the K-9 Handler position. He is of good, honest, and fair officer. He does not have a "GED". He graduated from Commerce High School and served 7 years in the Army having served twice overseas (Kosovo and Iraq). He also used his GI Bill to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Law Enforcement. I think you may need to complete your research before making such an ignorant and unintelligent comment. I also think you may need to take a spelling course or typing class because your skills need improvement.

If I recall the original story on the Kiwanis donation correctly, didn't the Kiwanis graciously donate $3,000.00 to add a second dog to the police force as a relief factor to the one that was already in use to prevent him from wearing out to soon due to overwork or age. Why did the wonderful police chief wait three years after the donation, after the current dog was retired to finally add this dog. Now one is retired and a new one purchased which still leaves only one dog. Could it be that the money was long ago used for something else and this dog was finally purchased with money that was taken off the interstate? It always appears that the Commerce Police Department does everything shady and tells people what they want to hear, when they want to hear it but still do just whatever they want.

According to the above posts, nothing that the police should be messing with. It would be racist to think that drugs are being sold on Cedar Drive. The trouble spots are probably over on Dogwood Trail.

There is one word to sum up Commerce. SHADY! From the Police Force to the Utilities Department. I can not believe how the city treats it's citizens. I am ashamed of Commerce Georgia and will never live within the City limits again. The officials need to learn that they were elected to Public Office for a reason and that is to work for the citizens, all citizens. It seems as if they only work for the ones that think their shi* don't stink. I can name a few but will refrain. Maybe one day Commerce will work towards the motto "a city on the right track". HA! I laugh at this, there is nothing about Commerce that is on the right track.

Looks like somebody got caught speeding, doing meth, shoplifting, something. We can all take consolation that you've moved back to Pleasant Acres.
