William Rees

JEFFERSON – William Michael “Mike” Rees, 55, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009.

Born in Birmingham, Ala., on June 24, 1954, he was the son of the late William Little and Mary Sue Stevenson Rees. He was an insurance agent with Franklin Insurance in Jefferson for over nine years and was previously employed for 28 years with Atlanta Gas Light Company in Atlanta, Washington, and Sandersville. He was a member of the Jefferson First Baptist Church, member of the Jefferson Rotary Club, and was a Jefferson Elementary School Mentor.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Alligood Rees, Jefferson; daughter, Linsey Kay Rees, Milledgeville; a son, David William Rees, Jefferson; brothers, Daniel Gray Rees, Lawrenceville, Bill Rees Jr., Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 30, at 1 p.m., at the Jefferson First Baptist Church with Michael Helms officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
