A key road project in Commerce will move forward following action Monday night by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners to approve agreements with developers.
The BOC approved a development agreement with Commerce Land Holdings for the Bana Road project in East Jackson. The developer agrees to donate 15 acres of right of way.
Construction of the road is scheduled for this fall. The project will add 2.7 miles of three-lane roadway to the “I-85 parallel network” connecting State Route 98 (Maysville Road) and State Route 82 Spur, along with opening up over 425 acres for potential industrial development, all of which is in the city limits of Commerce.
