Following the death of Ward 5 councilman Richard Massey last Saturday, Commerce will hold a special election on Tuesday, March 16, to fill Massey's unexpired term.

Massey, 75, succumbed Saturday to complications from a stroke suffered early this year.

Massey was elected to the council in 1989. He was retired from BJC Medical Center where he was manager of the radiology department for almost 40 years.
