Armed robbery takes place at car wash

Commerce police officers are looking for a young black male they say committed an armed robbery at the Broad Street Car Wash Dec. 15.

A 29-year-old white male said he was washing his car and needed more quarters, so he went to the change machine. When he turned around, he said a black male age 15-17 pulled a gun from his pants and demanded his money.

The victim said the robber took $300 and fled on foot behind AutoZone. The man’s wife and children, sitting in the car, observed the robbery, the report said.

Anyone with information should call the Commerce Police Department at 706-335-3200.

That is probably the same teen boy that pulled his gun out on me in Commerce as well , But yet when I called 911 the commerce police told me " Hes a teen how can he possibly have a gun?"
Are you kidding me???? Come on lets get REAL here , anyone can get a gun it isnt that hard.

he is lucky he is targeting the unarmed folks but he will mess up and go for the wrong person and learn a painful lesson

you are right i have a name an a gun. i am also trained in its proper use.i have more than the state requires of most city cops.just be careful the criminal has more rights than the victman.but stand up people! dont let this s!!t go on.everyone can get traning an stop this trash just a few can make a change. its just taking back our town

Don't call the Commerce PD, they would find it necessary to leave the donut shop and they'd be mad. Instead carry your own 357 - Funny recently a robber walked up to a couple in Atlanta sticking a gun in the gentlemen's face demanding money. What the robber got was a nice soft bed in a dark quiet hole. No more robbery, (news report courtesy of the local television news).

That's odd. Commerce PD likes to pull in the car wash and sleep right there for a couple hours. Who knows, they might have been there the whole time and slept thru it!

that was my son in law and daughter and grandkids that were robbed at the carwash. that was all the money they had for my grandkids christmas. my 2 year old grandson witnessed the whole thing and still crys out at night saying dont shoot my daddy!!!!!!!! i hope the little punk that robbed them had a good christmas cause my grandbabys didnt. they also lost there place to live and there only car broke down and now they dont even have that. so to the little punk that robbed them you better be glad i didnt find you that night because i looked for you before the police got there. i would have run you over if it had been me sitting in the car witnessing that in front of my grandkids. get a job you wont have to go around robbing people

What is the problem in Commerce here lately. I know crime usually goes up around the holidays but Commerce seems to be getting reemed. All these burglaries and robberies going on. Something may need to start being done to improve the quality of this police department instead of worrying about furloughing them lets look at actually making them work.

Nadine I sure wish there was a way I can get in touch with you , I know the guy that did this robbery because hes been going across town bragging about it and I called Commerce and gave them his name but they STILL have not even questioned him , and I know they have saw him in John-town several times because I see him all the time in town in a white car with his girlfriend , I hope Commerce arrests him soon and I am very sorry your family had to go through something like that from such a loser like him!!!!

I was born and raised in Commerce,never did i know crime was so bad.My home has been broken into twice in a year and a half last time two weeks before christmas.i do not even feel safe in my on home.I would love to take care of some of these criminals .Just pay attention to what is going on around you help your neighbor .I am on full alert.God bless all of you hit by crime i will be praying for you.

Sounds like people are going start taking matters into their own hands. There are going to be a lot more people carrying guns around town if the police cant prevent this. There needs to be more police presents around town. They used to patrol my neighbor hood everyday. Now im lucky to see them once a month. I really hope it starts to get better around here.

We all understand that the commerce PD is most likely under paid, yet that is the job that they have chosen. Instead of putting 4 cruisers on 85 for speeders, put those cruisers back into the town. For a family to be robbed in the car wash ( so close to the station house ) should be a kick in the ass to the police. Should we arm ourselves to protect our families seeing how the police aren't doing they're jobs?

I have already taken my wife to show her how to fire the gun I bought her last weekend. I know that might be a little over board, but if you bust into my house or try to get her at the store, expect a few extra holes in your chest. That isn't a threat, it's a promise. Try me!!!

Wish this low down punk will come and rob me. He will get to meet Ms Betsy. I will let my 40 cal Glock do the talking for me. Am tired of seeing this crap go on all the time and it is time for all Honest hard working people say ENOUGH is ENOUGH. It is such a shame for this to happen to a family while washing a car and then having such bad luck hit them. Think the cops have become too lazy when it comes to patrols and patroling the neighborhood like they should. Hmmm you will usually find most of the cruisers sitting at the Martin Bridge exit trying to catch a speeder instead of a S!!t arse theif

When is the next town hall meeting? Anyone know? Lets make our voice heard this time!! Lets rally together and get something done. Hope everyone is prepared for what the real answer will be. We will have to raise taxes to make enough money for new police officers and equipment. Wait, here is an idea, lets make the ones we do have now actually WORK! OMG. What a concept!

Why would an officer want to put his life on the line everyday for people like you. Ya'll have no concept of what goes on and how things are treated. You treat your officers like crap, they never do right, but yet they put their life on the line for you. Step back and look at all they do and be thankful. Instead of down them, help them. No one is knocking the officers. I am a fireman in a county over. I know what goes on. My dad was a police officer for Hall County. My brother and my cousin are both police officers for Hall County now. So don't say we don't know what goes on. If there was more activity on their parts they would not get such a bad rap. I have lived in Commerce for 2 years and have seen the officers come down my road twice. Once was to come get food from my neighbor on Christmas Day. I have also passed them sitting at the carwash, Wal-Greens parking lot, and various other locations around our tiny town for hours on end. Make a better showing and you will get your support. It's like asking for a raise before you do the work. Do the work and the benefits will come. People in Commerce do NOT feel protected. If you can't feel protected in a town the size of Mayberry, where can you? I moved from Banks County and I can assure you that we felt more protected there than around here.

I am a police officer and I bust my tail everyday at work for the city of Commerce. If an officer is sitting in a parking lot he/she may be doing a report on the lap top, that way we are not at the PD not being seen. Just because a crime happens it's not because we are not doing our job. Yes its a small town, but the call volume is rather large. "If a house burns, is it the firemans fault for not doing his/her job?" Futher more, if you don't feel safe than move back to Banks County!

Yep! Typical COP attitude! Not a firemans fault when the house catches on fire. The difference is when the house catches on fire......and someone calls.....we actually RUSH to the scene and respond in a timely manner.

My son played baseball and on one of the other kids teams, there was a cops kid that played. I know for a fact that he would show up at a practice or a game, ON DUTY, and stay for an hour or more and watch his kid play. Is that what the tax payers pay taxes for? I don't think so! Commerce, not its Police Officers, has a bad rap going right now. I respect you and what you do.

This will be my last email since this childish game, which I will admit, I have played in, has gone on long enough!

I wish you and all the Public Safety Officers out there safety.
