At his last official Commerce City Council meeting Dec. 14, Ward 2 councilman Donald Wilson, following a 2-vote loss in the Nov. 3 city election, promised: “I’ll be back.”
Wilson has bigger plans for his comeback than Ward 2.
Donald Wilson, former Ward 2 city councilman, says he plans to run for mayor next year.

We've suffered long enough from the idiots that kept voting this man in. Please, Dear God, give them all flat tires on the day of the election.
Amen.
No one in the present city goverment (not even Buzzie) has said they would raise taxes.
How exactly would Wilson get Commerce on the right track? How would he make Commerce a better place? Please be specific.
I can tell you this, if Donald Wilson had his way we would not have three good restaurants in downtown, which has brought more people to shop downtown, and created jobs.
Donald Wilson voted against allowing wine and beer permits for downtown which would have prevented those three restaurants from coming to downtown Commerce.
God bless us all and our troops in this New Year.
The city has ordinances allowing the sale of beer, wine and liquor by the drink and beer and wine by the package. It cannot legally refuse to issue licenses to applicants who meet the requirements of the ordinance. To refuse a license to a qualified applicant would invite a lawsuit that would certainly be successful. In reality, the city council has no choice but to approve license applications that meet all of the city's requirements.
I am Christian. Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior, but religion and politics do not mix well. And I would be saying the very same thing if Donald Wilson (or some other ordained person) running for office was a Muslim or a Jew.
What is good for the minority is not always good for others. The minority in this case is Donald Wilson who would compel and bend the majority to the minority's personal religious views.
I do understand your concern from a personal standpoint, and please don't take this the wrong way, but just because a few people can't handle their "high" doesn't mean those that can have to live our lives without alcohol or without the right of access to wine or beer combined our public dining pleasure.
Don't misunderstand, please. I am saying if someone doesn't like or want to drink, or shouldn't drink, then let them carry on as such- but those that can drink responsibly in public or private have every right to do so.
Being a Christian does not mean alcohol is forbidden because of our faith in God and Christ.
Ecclesiastes 10:19 says "A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry."
Proverbs 31:6-7 says: "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more."
Psalm 104:14-15 says: "He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; and wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart."
Please note that the top three quotes from the Bible refer to wine and not grape juice. Grape juice does not make one "merry," grape juice does not lighten "those that be of heavy hearts," and grape juice does not "maketh glad the heart."
Martin Luther, the founder of Lutheranism, said: "Beer is made by men, Wine by God."
And Martin Luther also said (my personal favorite): "He who loves not wine, women and song remains a fool his whole life long."
Moderation is the key.
God bless you and yours,

I never said that a having drink or two is sinful- quite the opposite.
My real concern is with people in office voting or governing based on what they THINK God wants, even though that is not what the majority wants. We are mortal souls who have been granted spiritual immorality through our faith and salvation through Christ. Even we can not completely know the will of God and we should not pretend to.
There are also a few Christian leaders who preach that the women folk in their flock can not cut their hair because of a random quote from the Bible. What if an elected leader wanted to enforce or enact laws like that? I know that is a stretch, but think about it. A line must be drawn.
God bless,
