The Commerce Police Department seeks two black males who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of Huck’s Cafe, Homer Road. They have the names of both suspects; both are familiar to police.
According to the incident report, a 29-year-old white female was traveling on Homer Road when she noticed that her 2-year-old son was not properly buckled in, so she pulled into the parking lot at Huck’s to properly secure the child, who was in the back seat.
She completed that task, got back into her vehicle, at which time two black males jumped into the car, one into the passenger-side front seat and the other into the back seat.
The victim said the man in front pulled a gun, cocked it and stuck it to her neck, ordering her to “Gimmie your money.” The woman told police she gave the man three $50 bills from her front pocket, but the man demanded her purse. The victim, showing some mettle, told the robbers that there was no money in the purse and she did not want to give it to the men.
Then the robbers demanded her cell phone, but she refused, saying it belonged to her boyfriend. The robber in the back seat reached over and grabbed the phone, but when both exited the vehicle, they threw the phone back inside of the car, advising her not to call police or “they would come after her and her son.”
The victim told a relative about the incident, the report said, and that relative pulled up a picture of one of the suspects from his MySpace page, at which time the victim identified that individual as the robber in the front seat.
