COMMERCE – Virginia Mann Chandler, 82, died Monday, February 8, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
Born in Putnam County she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ora Bell Adams Mann. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce. Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Dixon Chandler.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Harbin, Commerce; son, Larry S. Chandler, Young Harris; brothers, Bobby Mann, Stone Mountain, Donald Mann, Cumming, and Gerald Mann, Elberton; sister, Betty Bennett, Athens; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, at 11 a.m., from the First Baptist Church of Commerce with Carlton Allen, David Bowen and Lee Ritchie officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Commerce, the First United Methodist Church of Commerce to the Children’s Ministry or the Sanctuary Fund, or the McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee to the Legacy Fund.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
