It’s not a good idea to leave an unlocked vehicle running, even for a few minutes.
A Commerce man learned that the hard way early one morning, according to the Commerce Police Department.
The 47-year-old white male said he left his Ford F-250 truck running and unlocked in the parking lot of Presto’s convenience store while he slipped inside to get a cup of coffee.
Presto, the truck was gone.
The victim said the vehicle also contained some personal checks and some Hall County firefighters’ uniforms.
A clerk at the business told police that a white male who said his vehicle had run out of gasoline at the Gold Mine Used Car Lot had been hanging around the store that morning.
