Police respond to 2,133 calls in February

Officers filed 58 incident reports and 25 accident reports during February, and recorded 385 arrests or citations.

Of those, the bulk — 233 — came from speeding. There were also 35 seat belt or child restraint cases, seven license offenses and five DUI cases.

On the criminal side, the department made 15 drug arrests, 12 of which were felonies. It also made seven theft or burglary arrests.

The department’s Narcotics Unit seized two vehicles, a 1999 Honda Civic and a 2001 Dodge Dakota while making 13 of the 15 drug cases. Patrol level officers made one felony narcotics arrest, one misdemeanor narcotics arrests and two of its DUI cases related to drugs.
