After opening with back-to-back victories, the East Jackson Eagles have spent the following games looking for traction. So far, it’s eluded them, as they dropped their last two games, both of which were region pairings.
The Eagles’ next chance to get their season back on the right path comes on March 23, when East Jackson will host Walnut Grove.
The Warriors enter the week with a 3-2 record, having won their only region pairing so far in the season against Oglethorpe County.
The first pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Jefferson
The Eagles traveled to Jefferson last Tuesday night.
Things went bad from the start, as the Dragons put five runs on the board in the bottom of the first. East Jackson answered with one run in the top of the second and another in the top of the third, but could move no closer as the Dragons scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth, and went on to win 13-2.
Sam Williamson recorded the loss, giving up 13 runs on six hits while striking out two in four innings.
Evan Williamson and John Robinson drove in the Eagles’ runs.
Banks County
After Saturday’s game at Heritage was rained out, the Eagles hosted Banks County in a game rescheduled from March 12.
Banks scoring in the first inning off of an RBI double that gave them a 1-0 advantage.
Despite a strong effort from the mound, the Eagles had to play from behind, as the Leopards jumped on five errors committed by East Jackson to take the lead and hold on to it to win 8-6.
Nick Keyros, Sam Williamson, John Robinson and Ethan Lyons all pitched during the game. John Robinson had two hits.
