Developer proposes 50-unit senior apartment complex

The project is expected to cost $6 million to $8 million, according to city planner David Zellner. It would be restricted to residents 55 and older.

The planning commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Peach Room of the Commerce Civic Center.

The final say on the matter will come from the Commerce City Council, which will act on the planning commission’s recommendation at its June 14 meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Commerce Room of the Commerce Civic Center.

Precise information on the proposal is sketchy. The number of units is placed at 48, 50 and 54, on various pages of the rezoning application. There is no mention of floor size, but a letter in the package promises two-story, four-sided brick apartments plus a community center with exercise equipment, a game room, sitting area and elevator. A small garden plot is also proposed.
