There's a price to pay to become 'pretty'

An Athens woman who allegedly shoplifted $227 worth of materials from CVS Pharmacy last week in order to “look pretty” didn’t get to use them before officials took her booking photo at the Jackson County Jail.

The Commerce Police Department incident report said an officer was summoned to CVS where the store manager had Casey Lynn Teague, 19, of 125 Baxter Drive, Athens, in custody.

According to the manager, when she confronted Teague, the suspect denied stealing anything, but when told that she’d been captured on video, admitted the thefts.

According to the report, the officer asked her why she stole the items and she replied that she “didn’t know why she was stealing the items” but then stated, “to look pretty.”

She was charged with shoplifting and transported to the Jackson County Jail.
