School board extends McCoy's contract

Commerce School System’s superintendent James “Mac” McCoy is still going strong, according to the board of education.

The school board unanimously gave McCoy a “satisfactory” rating during the annual superintendent’s evaluation Monday night and a one-year contract extension.

The extension was decided during a 75-minute closed session, most of which was reportedly spent discussing McCoy.

Terms of the contract were not immediately available.
