After months of negotiations, Commerce officially approved a pair of intergovernmental agreements covering its portion of the proposed next round of the special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST).
Jackson County voters will decide Nov. 2 whether to extend the one-percent tax for another six years to generate an estimated $47.5 million.
Monday’s agreements signify the city’s approval of the plan to distribute that money.
