The Georgia Department of Transportation is spending substantial sums of money to improve traffic flow in Commerce by linking the three downtown traffic lights.
When they’re done with that, here’s another project: fix the intersection of Ila Road with South Broad and Elm streets. It’s a fatality waiting to happen.
DOT should fix Ila Road intersection

THIS HAPPENED!! In a driving rain storm at 11:pm in the spring, a friend from Savannah did this very thing! As cars flashed lights and blew horns, she finally realized that somewhere, the road split!! If the city of Commerce is going to have that unsightly and hideous rail run down the middle of town, they should at least put signs up when the road splits at this intersection!!

The city of Commerce can do nothing about the railroad going through town, and there are signs warning about the road splitting — just not enough clear indications for people unfamiliar with the road.

Yes, why not, let's burden the City with the cost of moving the utilities on that intesection too. Heck, everybody knows money grows on trees.

It's pretty difficult trying to make a left turn from Ila road as well.
