A Commerce man got a lot more than he bargained for when he made a $4.43 purchase recently, according to the Commerce Police Department.
Rodrick Lonnie Jones, 19, of 6076 Enterprise Street, Millington, TN, finds himself facing charges of entering an auto, financial transaction card fraud and criminal receipt of goods or services.
That’s because Jones allegedly made his purchase at Ray’s Corner Station with a bank card he’d stolen from a vehicle parked at the Commerce Public Library shortly before he visited Ray’s Corner Station.
The victim of the theft, a 30-year-old white female, after finding the bank card and her iPod missing when she came out of the library, called the bank and learned that the card had just been used at Ray’s. Police were able to charge Jones with the theft after viewing a video of the transaction on the store’s security system.
