A fox that bit a Commerce School System employee tested positive for rabies, police chief John Gaissert confirmed Thursday morning. The victim had already started post-exposure treatment for rabies.
"I think that's the standard protocol now," Gaissert.
According to the Commerce Police Department incident report, Donald Nation, 52, said the fox, which he noticed was bleeding from the mouth, ran out from under a dumpster, bit him and ran back under the dumpster.

I understand that the Commerce Animal Control officer is being laid off at the end of the year, if this is true, what is Commerce planning on doing about the occasional rabid animal and other various pest control problems?
