It was a strong close to the 2010 swim season for the Commerce Tiger Sharks over the weekend, as all 10 swimmers that qualified for the Georgia Park and Recreation State swim meet in Tifton medaled in their events.
Ages 10-under swam on Friday, while the 11-up swimmers held their events on Saturday. Preliminary events were held in the morning, with the top eight finishers returning for the finals in the afternoon.
Among those medaling were Kate Massey, seventh, girls’ 10-under butterfly; Kendell Moon, fourth, 50-yard breaststroke, fifth, 100-yard individual medley; Hannah McRee, fourth, 14-under 50-yard breaststroke; Emmie Burley, sixth, 14-under 100-yard freestyle, sixth, 50-yard butterfly; Hayden McRee, seventh, 18-under 50-yard breaststroke; Tori Smallwood, eighth, 18-under 100-yard freestyle; Dalton Dean, eighth, boys’ 14-under 50-yard butterfly, third, 50-yard backstroke; Jonathan Book, fifth, 18-under 50-yard freestyle; seventh, 18-under 100-yard freestyle.
The team of Hayden McRee, Hannah McRee, Emmie Burley and Tori Smallwood placed eighth in the girls’ 18-under 200-yard medley relay. The team of Dalton Dean, Clay Pritchett, Dawson Knick and Jonathan Book placed sixth in the boys’ 200-yard medley relay.
