Age limit removed on mobile homes

The change comes after the Georgia General Assembly passed Senate Bill 384, which requires that decisions on the placement of a mobile home onto property may not be based on the age of the structure. The county planning staff will inspect all manufactured homes entering the county to insure they meet codes.

In other planning business Monday night, the commissioners approved another amendment to the UDC in relation to new flood damage prevention regulations. The current regulations were approved by the BOC in April, however, the Federal Emergency Management Agency made changes that required a text amendment. The change only affects the date of applicability, changing it from Sept. 29 to Dec. 17.
