The Commerce Friends of the Library invite all readers and library supporters to the annual book sale at the Commerce Public Library this Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Book sale to benefit library expansion fund
“This year the book sale has a special goal,” says Friends president Erika Jantzen, “and that is to help push our fund-raising train to the top of the hill, so our library expansion can begin. The proceeds from the book sale will benefit the library’s Building Fund.”
The book sale will feature everything from children's books to books on CD. Fiction and nonfiction, romance, mysteries, and much more will be available, including collectible signed first editions. And morning visitors will be treated to coffee and donuts.
A new feature of the book sale this year will be the chance to buy a bag of books for just $6.
The library lacks just over $60,000 in raising the $283,000 needed to match a $2 million grant from the state for the expansion. Construction is expected to begin late this year.
