Blood drive Tuesday at First Baptist Church

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Tuesday, Sept. 14, from noon to 6:00 p.m. in the family fellowship center of the First Baptist Church of Commerce.

The church is located at 1345 South Broad Street, Commerce.

The Red Cross provides blood services to local hospitals, including BJC Medical Center and the Athens, Gainesville and Atlanta area hospitals..
Participants will receive a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A sandwich at the Banks Crossing restaurant.

The Red Cross has also issued an urgent call for blood donors due to a 17-percent reduction in donations over the summer. Donors with all blood types are needed, but especially those with type O negative, since that kind of blood can be given to people of any blood type in an emergency.

I wonder if there is anywhere else you can donate blood at/to besides the Red Cross?
