Taste of Jackson on tap Thursday night

The annual Taste of Jackson/Business Showcase will be held this Thursday from 5:00 to 8 p.m. at the Commerce Civic Center.

The event features area restaurants and caterers offering samples of their food and booths from businesses and non-profit groups explaining the goods or services they honor. Numerous door prizes, including a grand prize $1,000 gift card at Real Deals, will be given away.

A children’s cooking area and a dessert-cooking contest are also on the agenda.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 and senior citizens 55 or older. Tickets are on sale at the chamber office in Jefferson and will be available at the door the evening of the event.

A ticket buys entry into the showcase, a chance for door prizes, a taste from all the food vendors, access to the children’s section, an event tote bag and a chance at the grand prize.
