At this year’s Autumn Leaf Festival, organizers were looking to make Maysville officially the “Friendliest Town in the Nation” by receiving 1,206 hugs in one hour and breaking the current “Guinness World Book of Records” entry in that category.
Maysville’s attempt to win Guinness Book of World Records fame for “the most hugs in an hour” apparently fell about 300 hugs short. Above, Gabbie Raastad of Talmo gets in the first hug from Tommy Rainey, who for an hour was the hugliest man in Maysville.

Where's the love Maysville? It's probably gone the way of those tickets written in your speed trap. How many patrol cars do you have now? For a town the size of Homer, and you need that many? Get real, no hugs for you.
