The Commerce Civic Center and Tourism Authority has appointed Kellie Ross as manager of the civic center. She succeeds Kerry Johnson, who recently retired.
Ross, who lives in Commerce, has worked part-time at the civic center since 2004. The manager’s position is also part-time.
A graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, Ross has worked in restaurants and country clubs in the Atlanta area, starting as line cook and advancing to executive chef.
She and her husband, Rob, moved to Commerce in 1996. They have a son who attends Commerce High School, and she is a member of the Friends of the Commerce Public Library and the Commerce Downtown Development Authority’s Promotions Committee.
Other part-time civic center employees include Archie D. Chaney, Gerald Tanner, Karen Cochran, Angie Hooper, Tim Anglin and John Rucker.
