The Nicholson City Council is considering a 2011 budget of $410,000, which is up $5,000 over the current budget.
At a meeting Thursday night, Nicholson Mayor Ronnie Maxwell presented the proposed 2011 budget to the council for consideration.
During the discussion, Maxwell told the council that the proposed 2011 budget includes $20,000 for the library for books again this year.
“And raises for city employees is also included in this budget,” Maxwell said.
As he did during the 2010 budget approval process, council member Chuck Wheeler voiced his opposition to the $20,000 for library books.
The council plans to hold a public hearing on the 2011 budget at the November work session set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18. The vote on the budget will be at the Dec. 6 meeting.
We don't need no dang books, cain't nun of us peopel in Nikolsun reed noway!
Geez, Chuck, will ya give it a rest already?
If you and Ronnie would stop acting like 5 year olds and BOTH of you would do what is best for the people of Nicholson, you MIGHT actually get something decent done, once in a while.
You two need to grow up.
Actually, you BOTH should step down and let someone else have a turn at doing something positive for the town instead of this "good ole boy" bickering and questionable behavior that has been going on for far, far too long.
