Wasted mom wants to find drugs

The daughter, a middle school child, told police she didn’t have the drugs. She also told them that her mother was “wasted” on drugs the night before and identified two people on the scene she said took drugs with her mother.

The mother continued to insist that the child had the drugs. Police searched the child and the child’s book bag, finding nothing. The report also noted that the mother had called Commerce Middle School to get her other child out of school to ask her what she’d done with the pills.

Yet another child told police that the kids’ mother had driven them to a restaurant for supper the night before. The mother has a suspended driver’s license.

The woman wasn’t charged, but officers on the scene called the Department of Family & Children Services to report the conditions under which the children live.
