The Commerce Police Department made three arrests during the past week on driving under the influence (DUI) charges. Otherwise, it was a relatively slow week.
Among those arrested was Cynthia Beth Minish, 32, 745 Carson Road, Commerce, charged with DUI-drugs, failure to yield right of way while turning left and driving without a license on her person.

Wow, 3 DUI's? Let us be glad they were not in Banks County. The Deputy's there release those with DUI's and speeding, and which have law enforcement credentials. Way to go Chapman! If this were a regular taxpaying citizen, they would have been placed below the jail, not released to proceed home!

I am in total agreement, however when a Banks County deputy releases an off duty deputy from an adjoining county after being stopped for speeding and over the legal limit for DUI something is very wrong. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time only goes for a tax paying citizen in Banks County! It means nothing for off duty out of county deputys.
