Someone helped themselves to more than $700 worth of cell phones and chargers last week, according to the Commerce Police Department.
Responding to a burglar alarm at New Horizons Wireless, South Broad Street, at 1:43 a.m., officers found a small window open, along with the back door. They noticed a lot of tools on the floor where renovation work was taking place, the report said, and the lock from a display case on top of the case.
When a store employee arrived, he determined that seven phones valued at $675 were missing, although he pointed out that the thief or thieves did not take the chargers that come with the phones. However, two universal car chargers valued at $24 were also missing.
A worker doing renovation work on the building told police that a store employee left the previous night and asked that the worker leave the back door open and the alarm turned off because he was coming back later.
