New CHS finally open

Not all the kinks are worked out, to be sure. The media center, for example, cannot be made operational until the company that installs the bookshelves comes back and corrects some placement mistakes. Tables from the old cafeteria had to be deployed in the new lunchroom due to shipping delays. But most punch list items remain minor, and the newness of building, furniture and equipment more than compensated for any inconvenience.

Any confusion the first day was understandable, as most students who awaited the first bell in the cafeteria had no idea where their homerooms were located.

An open house and a dedication ceremony are planned for Sunday, Feb. 6.
