I am interested in the future of the hospital and nursing facility because it is an institution in our community that so many people entrust their lives to, not only with their health care, but with their careers. Another reason for my interest is that I have just been hired as BJC’s new marketing director.
Hospitals and nursing homes have always been a part of my life as both of my parents work in the medical field. While deciding on a career, I always liked the hospital setting, but did not like the clinical aspect of it. Because of my fear of the blood and guts, I have a lot of respect for individuals who enjoy working in the health care field, but knew it was never for me.
Since 1995, I have worked as a marketing director for adult day centers and assisted living communities. Since 2005, my job has required me to travel in the southeast and as far west as Oklahoma. My experience with Renaissance Senior Communities was valuable and I am so appreciative of the opportunities it afforded me. However, the travel was beginning to cause wear and tear on me and my family. It was time for a change.
As I embrace the new challenges set before me, I am so excited about the hospital and nursing home. Everyone has a caring attitude and wants the facility to be successful. With their current leadership, I am pleased to be a part of a team who is willing to do what it takes to make it right.
The celebration March 30 is open to the public and I invite you to come take a closer look and meet the dedicated employees of BJC. Join us Wednesday, March 30, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. as we unveil the new name of a historical institution promising new beginnings. The new name will be revealed at 5:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and a special presentation will be made to the winner of the $500 for naming the new hospital. Our new name is more than just a name; it’s a new identity for our future.
